To kick off the New Year – and still remain safe and socially-distanced – the 2021 Lakeland, FL [KLAL] BPT Clinic will be a “Hybrid Event,” as follows:
BPT Virtual Ground School* on Friday, February 26 2021
Initial and Recurrent Ground School [Online only; open to all pilots, regardless of location]
• Friday from 9 am to 4 pm ET
• Initial & Recurrent Ground Schools each consist of six 1-hour online classes
• Classes are 1 hour each [with a break from Noon until 1 pm ET]
• Cost: $500
*Please note: This is a virtual event only; it will not take place at a host hotel, as we have done previously at non-COVID BPT Clinics.
In-Person Flight with a BPT Instructor on Saturday, February 27
and Sunday, February 28, 2021
To fly with a certified BPT Instructor @ Lakeland, FL on Saturday, February 27, or Sunday, 28 February, you must:
• Reserve your space by or before February 23, 2021
• Agree to fly in one of the following timeslots:
Saturday, February 27, 2021:
o 8 am – 1 pm ET or
o 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm ET
Sunday, February 28, 2021
o 8 am – 1 pm ET
o 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm ET
• Wear a mask
• Adhere to COVID regulations associated with the state of Florida
• Present proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test completed within 72 hours
prior to your flight. Your instructor must also provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
• Provide the following insurance documents to BPT prior to your flight:
o Insurance Certificate naming BPT, Inc. as an additional insured
o Waiver of Subrogation
o Hold Harmless document that is signed and dated
• Cost: $1195 (includes Online Ground School)
Fly with a BPT Instructor at Your Airport
You may prefer to schedule a half-day flight with a BPT-certified instructor at your location. If so, you must:
• Wear a mask
• Adhere to the COVID regulations imposed by the state in which the flight takes place
• Present proof of a of a COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test completed within 72 hours
prior to your flight. Your instructor must also provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
• Provide the following insurance documents to BPT prior to your flight:
o Insurance Certificate naming BPT, Inc. as an additional insured
o Waiver of Subrogation
o Hold Harmless document that is signed and dated
• Cost: $995 (includes Online Ground School), plus travel expenses, if the instructor travels to your location.
Receive Accreditation
By successfully completing the Virtual Ground School and the In-Person Flight with a certified BPT instructor, you will receive a BPT Certificate, Flight Review, IPC and F.A.A. Wings Credit, as appropriate.
