“Training for the Unexpected:
Using Simulation to Prepare
for the Real-World Emergencies”
Presented by:
Josh Harnagel
Vice President, Customer Experience
Redbird Flight Simulations, Inc.
This presentation draws on a real-life forced landing incident to illustrate how emergencies rarely unfold as anticipated. We will explore strategies for building resilience, emphasizing the value of simulation-based training in sharpening decision-making, composure, and adaptability. By practicing authentic scenarios in the simulator, pilots develop the mental agility and confidence needed to manage even the most unpredictable in-flight challenges.
